On 5th September 2025, a new chapter in innovation skyrocketed. The Swakiyam Induction 2025 opened the doors to a bold new beginning, igniting a spark of imagination that set the stage for limitless possibilities. Swakiyam Foundation for Incubation and Innovation stands as Indira University’s proud initiative to catalyze entrepreneurial development among its students. Swakiyam aims to position itself as a world-class business incubation centre, providing mentoring, funding, strategic guidance, resources, etc. to nurture budding entrepreneurs.

The day commenced with a warm welcome of the students that set the tone for what was to be an inspiring gathering of transformative ideas and ambition. As the event progressed, the spotlight turned to incubatees, who gave a presentation and expressed their vision of shaping their entrepreneurial journeys. Their presentation showcased creativity, passion, and the spirit of collaboration. Enthusiasm reached a high with management games, where students immersed themselves in dynamic and interactive management exercises designed to sharpen critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

The narrative of Swakiyam’s journey then came into full view with the unveiling of its Roadmap, making it clear that Swakiyam was not merely a launchpad but a long-term growth ecosystem for innovators. A series of distinguished addresses followed, each adding layers of inspiration and institutional vision. Dr. Dipanjay Bhalerao, Director of the Swakiyam Centre for Incubation and Innovation, warmly welcomed the dignitaries and ushered in a gathering of inspiring leaders.

Mr. Shardul Gangal, Executive Director – Indira University & Projects (SCES), Vice President – SCES, and Director – Swakiyam Centre for Incubation and Innovation, delivered a high-octane address that talked about the mission, structure, and value propositions of Swakiyam for the community.

The words of Mr. Baljeet Gujral, Chairman- Swakiyam Foundation of Incubation and Innovation at Indira University, deeply inspired the students, and his words kept echoing the pride and responsibility of steering such a meaningful venture.

The room brimmed with a fresh wave of zeal as Dr. Tarita Shankar, President Designate of Indira University and Chairperson and Chief Mentor of the Indira Group of Institutions, came to address the audience and talked about her aspirations on this entrepreneurship initiative. She reaffirmed the belief that achieving the best begins with doing something different today. She explained that to become tomorrow’s drivers of innovation and drive positive societal change, we should begin thinking and working now.

Mr. Amit Kothawade, Senior Manager at the Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSIS), talked about his perspective on support and initiatives that would bolster the incubation ecosystem further.

The ceremony culminated in an expert session led by Mr. Prashant Iyer, Director of Ecosystem Development at the Wadhwani Foundation. His words resonated with the entrepreneurial aspirations of the audience.

A Vote of Thanks by Dr. Dipanjay Bhalerao acknowledged the energy of participants. He paid his gratitude to the support system and thanked the distinguished speakers, who enriched the induction day with their wisdom and presence.
