Theatre begins long before the spotlight finds the stage. It begins in silence and observation to feel deeply and speak truthfully. A Journey from Script to Stage was an invitation into this very essence of performance, where words transform into movement and stories find breath, rhythm and soul.

Hosted by the Stagecraft Club of Indira University, this immersive theatre experience unfolded as a celebration of liberal arts in its most expressive form. Rooted in acting and storytelling, the workshop explored performance not merely as technique, but as a disciplined yet deeply human craft.

The session was led by Mr. Dinesh Dixit – Director, Actor, Writer, Storyteller and Poet, whose four decades of theatre experience resonated in every insight he shared. A national and international theatre practitioner, Mr. Dixit has directed and performed in iconic plays and has facilitated theatre learning across India and abroad. His presence brought with it a rare depth, where tradition met experimentation and experience met curiosity.

Participants were guided through the subtle architecture of performance: discovering stage presence, understanding the emotional weight of a script and learning how storytelling lives not only in dialogue, but in pauses, posture and intention. From performance discipline to creative confidence, the workshop opened pathways for students to explore theatre as a language, one that communicates beyond words.

The experience became a space for reflection, expression and fearless creation. Students were encouraged to listen deeply and embody stories with honesty and precision. It reaffirmed the idea that theatre is not about being seen, but about truly seeing; oneself, others and the world.
