School of Pharmacy Induction - NOVARIS

The SOP Induction – NOVARIS, held from August 4 to August 8, 2025, was a comprehensive and engaging event designed to welcome new students into the academic and extracurricular life at SOP. The program featured a series of informative sessions, interactive activities, and campus tours, facilitated by esteemed faculty members and industry professionals.

The induction commenced with an inaugural session led by Dr. Dayanand Kannur, Dean of SOP, who delivered an insightful lecture on the Pharmaceutical Industry Scenario and Professional Ethos, providing students with a foundational understanding of the industry’s landscape and the professional values essential for success.

Following this, Dr. Archana Karnik conducted the Academic Orientation session, and Dr. Rutuja Kamble introduced students to the various extracurricular activities and clubs, emphasizing the importance of holistic development beyond academics. Dr. Manasi Patil conducted a session on utilizing library resources effectively. Dr. Shraddha Devarshi, along with Mr. Sunil Kakad and Mrs. Meghna Dhabadkar, provided an overview of examination protocols and assessment criteria during the Examination Orientation Program.

The induction program also included Ice Breaking Games, fostering camaraderie among students, and helping them acclimate to the campus environment. A guided Campus Tour was organized, allowing students to familiarize themselves with the facilities, laboratories, and amenities available at SOP.

Mr. Shubham Tiwari emphasized the importance of strategic brand management in the pharmaceutical industry, by taking a session on “Building Brands Not Just Medicines: Fundamentals of Pharmaceutical Brand Management”. Dr. Ashutosh Misal, Director of Indian Knowledge Systems at Indira University, discussed ancient Indian philosophies and modern sustainability practices. Dr. Pallavi Sajjanapwar’s session, “Unbox Zindagi,” focused on the significance of setting clear, achievable goals in personal and professional life.

Dr. Satish Polshettiwar explored the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Digambar Ambikar provided strategies to optimize productivity and maintain work-life balance through effective time management practices. Mr. Manoj Khemoth’s workshop on personality development and grooming focused on enhancing individuals’ interpersonal skills and self-presentation. Dr. Prerana Dongre, an advisor specializing in intellectual property rights, conducted a session on the significance of patents and copyrights. Mr. Prasad Kanitkar highlighted the pivotal role of the pharmaceutical industry in contributing to national health and well-being.

Dr. Sunetra Patwardhan emphasized the importance of essential skill sets as catalysts for effective transformation from students to professionals. Aniruddha Dadke highlighted the significance of professional commitment and ethics in career development. Dr. Rajan Goel discussed the global paradigm shift in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on emerging challenges and opportunities. Dr. Amir Shaikh conducted a session on health and wellness, promoting holistic well-being.

Dr. Dipanjay Bhalerao, Director of the Incubation Centre & Startup Mentor at Swakiyam Foundation – IU, spoke on “Own the Journey: Swakiyam”, encouraging entrepreneurial spirit. Dr. Madhur Kulkarni emphasized the importance of nutrition, presenting “Power up with Nutrition: The Right Diet for Good Health.” Dr. Mahima Nikalje addressed “White Coats in Practice: Clinical Horizons for Pharm D Graduates,” providing insights into clinical practices.

Dr. Madhuri Sathe, Advisor for Corporate Relations at IGI & IU, discussed placements while Dr. Santosh Yele explored career opportunities in pharmacy. Adv. Nilima Sarode spoke on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH), highlighting safety and legal frameworks. These sessions collectively offered valuable insights into various aspects of personal and professional development.

This collaborative effort ensured a well-rounded and informative induction experience for the students, setting the tone for a successful academic year ahead.
