SheCan Club Event- Inner and Outer Engineering – With the Engineer Herself
An inspiring and soul-stirring session titled “Inner and Outer Engineering – with the Engineer Herself” on 9th Jan’26, was conducted by Dr. Tarita Shankar, President Designate – Indira University and Chairperson & Chief Mentor – Indira Group of Institutions, for the SheCan Club, where the girls, gracefully dressed in sarees, embodied tradition, confidence, and inner strength.
Dr. Tarita began with Inner Engineering, emphasizing the importance of mental health and gratitude for the gift of life. She reminded the students to be happy that they are alive and to make meaningful use of this precious gift. Life may bring tears, she said, but one must smile through the tears—“Cry if you must, finish it, and then rise again to face life with courage”. Forgiveness, she explained, is freedom. There is no absolute right or wrong; everything is destiny shaped by one’s deeds. Understanding how the inner self thinks and drives behavior is the foundation of a balanced life.
She encouraged the students to find their deed—their purpose, align with their existence, and give their very best to that purpose. Focused thinking, organized work, time management, and a planned day were highlighted as essential tools to keep the mind free enough to enjoy life while staying productive. This, she explained, is true inner engineering.
Moving to Outer Engineering, Dr. Tarita beautifully connected tradition with self-care. She spoke about the importance of wearing the saree as a symbol of grace and cultural strength, reiterating that true beauty begins from within. Cleanliness and hygiene of the mind and body come before makeup and appearance. A clean aura, she shared, plays a vital role in both professional and personal success.
The best ornament a woman can wear is her smile. She advised students to greet others with a smile, stay hydrated for good pH balance and natural glow, and make time for exercise and yoga—using technology wisely to learn and practice. Consistency in self-care, she said, ensures fitness and vitality even as one grows older. Students were encouraged to discover their energy, believe in themselves, identify their best physical features, and highlight their natural beauty while continuously working on their weaknesses.
Dr. Shankar also addressed emotional well-being, urging students not to fall into depression during low phases but to remember their purpose and the people who love them. Adequate sleep, sleeping early, body massage, and relaxation were stressed as essential elements of a healthy routine. Confidence and happiness from within, she concluded, are the true markers of success.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A round, where students openly shared experiences and asked questions. One student asked how to avoid distractions, to which Dr. Shankar advised self-organization, disciplined routines, and structured time schedules. Another student spoke about the beauty of female friendships and the strength of having good listeners as friends. Many others shared reflections, making the session deeply interactive and meaningful.
The event left the SheCan Club members inspired and empowered—carrying forward the message that when inner and outer engineering align, life becomes purposeful, beautiful, and fulfilling.
