The room carried an unmistakable sense of purpose. Conversations unfolded easily, ideas moved freely and every woman present had a story rooted in ambition and resilience. On 30th January 2026, women entrepreneurs came together at Indira University for an MBYBE session that created space for learning and forward momentum.

Organised by the Swakiyam Centre for Incubation & Innovation, the MBYBE (Mentoring & Business for Young Business Entrepreneurs) session brought together women at various stages of their entrepreneurial journeys. Some were shaping early ideas, others were scaling their ventures and many were navigating the complexities of building sustainable businesses. What united them was a shared intent to grow with clarity and confidence.

The session featured Dr. Rupa Hiremath, OSD, Chairperson’s Office – Indira University, who addressed the theme “Public Policy and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: Linking Entrepreneurs, Institutions, and Society.” Her insights offered a grounded understanding of how entrepreneurship is influenced by forces beyond the individual. She spoke about the role of public policy as a strategic support system, one that encourages innovation, reduces barriers and creates opportunities when designed with intent.

A strong emphasis was placed on the need for collaboration across government, academia, incubators and industry. Entrepreneurial success, the discussion highlighted, is rarely achieved in isolation. It is shaped by ecosystems where institutions actively enable access to funding, mentorship, knowledge and markets. For women-led enterprises, these connections are especially significant, often serving as the bridge between potential and progress.

The conversation also turned towards sustainable and entrepreneurship anchored in purpose. Dr. Hiremath emphasised that enterprises grounded in social responsibility tend to create lasting value. When business goals align with social impact, ventures contribute to stronger communities, inclusive growth and long-term resilience.

For the participants, the MBYBE session was reassurance that their ambitions are supported and their challenges acknowledged. It reinforced the idea that women entrepreneurs are not navigating their journeys alone, but within ecosystems intentionally built to help them succeed.

As the session concluded, one message stood out clearly, that strong entrepreneurial ecosystems are shaped through vision, strengthened by policy and sustained through partnerships. Through initiatives like MBYBE, Swakiyam at Indira University remains committed to helping women entrepreneurs lead with confidence and build ventures that truly matter.
