‘PsyNergy’ on World Mental Health Day
On 10 October, the Department of Arts at Indira University came alive with the warm buzz of creativity and compassion as it marked World Mental Health Day in a truly human way. The event titled “PsyNergy” invited students and faculty alike to step away from the ordinary and into spaces of trust, expression, and shared community.
From the very first moment, the mood was uplifting and inclusive. Laughter echoed through sessions of the Stroop Effect and Whisper Challenge, while the spirited flair of the Dart Game, Bingo, and “Simon Says” reminded everyone that play can improve our emotional well-being. These were not just games; they became means to empathize, connect, and belong.
What made the event meaningful was the “Listening Space”. A simple yet profound corner was created where voices were heard without judgment. It became a haven for thoughts that often stay tucked away. Nearby, the “Positive Wall” unfolded into three vibrant panels: Gratitude, Awareness, and Courage. Students moved quietly up to it, writing reflections, recognising their journey, and acknowledging that even a scribble can be a powerful step toward inner clarity.
By the close of PsyNergy, what remained with the participants wasn’t simply an event, but a promise: that mental health matters not just on a calendar day, but in the rhythm of our everyday communities. In the days ahead, the energy from the Listening Space and the Positive Wall will sustain them. The echoes of laughter from games like Stroop Effect and Simon Says now serve as gentle reminders that connection and fun can be healing. As they return to classrooms, studios, and everyday life, this community of students and faculty holds something quietly powerful- a shared belief that emotional well-being is a collective journey, not just a personal checkbox.
Through shared smiles, small confessions, and creative bursts, the Department didn’t just celebrate World Mental Health Day; they lived it!
