On the 17th of November, Indira University campus buzzed with immense pride as the Passport Seva Kendra Mobile Van was inaugurated by the hands of distinguished dignitaries. It was a milestone that not only honours Indira’s legacy of public service but also marks a transformative chapter in community empowerment.

The event was nothing short of extraordinary as we welcomed eminent personalities, whose presence elevated the occasion to a historic celebration. Leading this remarkable moment was Dr. Tarita Shankar, President-Designate of Indira University & Chairperson and Chief Mentor – Indira Group of Institutes, whose relentless commitment to student welfare continues to shape Indira’s journey of excellence. Joining her were guests – Dr. Vinod Kumar Gaikwad, IFS, Regional Passport Officer; Smt. Shruti Pandey, Deputy Passport Officer; and Mr. Santosh Sadare, Verification Officer, all of whom graced the event with their invaluable support, making the inauguration truly momentous.

The establishment of the Passport Seva Kendra mobile van on campus is a monumental leap forward in strengthening access to essential government services. With this initiative, passport services have now been brought right to our doorstep, making the entire process simpler, faster, and more accessible for students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community. What once required long travel and extended processes can now be handled with ease, convenience and direct support.

While mobile passport-camp efforts have existed since 2017, the RPO took a major step earlier this year by inaugurating a mobile Passport Seva van in Chennai in June 2025. And now, Indira University proudly becomes a part of this national movement toward citizen-friendly governance. Hosting the Passport Seva Kendra mobile van on our campus stands as a transformational milestone, symbolising the university’s unwavering commitment to innovation and public service.

With this step, Indira University reinforces its legacy as a beacon of progressive change. This initiative will empower countless individuals with smoother access to travel documentation, enabling them to explore opportunities across borders and build brighter futures.
