MOU Signing Ceremony at Indira University Seals New Industry–Education Partnerships
Indira University marked a new chapter in academic-industry collaboration with a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony on 1st Decemeber’2025. The event brought together four leading companies — Ultra Corpotech, WNS, Phillips, and Solar Industries under one roof. This milestone underscores the university’s persistent drive to bridge the gap between education and industry.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, setting a tone of solemnity and respect. Thereafter, Dr. Anagha Joshi, Vice Chancellor (I/c) – Indira University, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests. In her address, she emphasized the critical role of education and the institution’s commitment to enhancing placement prospects for students. She also highlighted the university’s Research & Development cell, which offers students valuable opportunities to engage in meaningful research. Dr. Joshi talked about how education and industry can work hand in hand to generate greater opportunities for learners.
Following her address, each guest present was introduced and felicitated with due honour. The formal MOU signing then began, marking the official launch of the partnerships between IU and the four companies.
During the event, Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, CMO and Academic Advisor at Indira University and IGI, addressed the gathering. He reflected on the broader economic landscape, noting the challenges India had faced in the past with fiscal deficits and import-export difficulties. He observed that the transformation of the corporate sector played a pivotal role in the country’s progress. He expressed hope that this partnership would yield benefits for all parties involved — students, academia, and industry alike.
Representatives of all four companies shared their enthusiasm, briefly speaking about their excitement at the opportunity to engage with IU students and contribute to their growth. Mr. Shashi Bhat, Founder of Gryphon Academy, spoke about his longstanding relationship with Indira University. He urged the students to dedicate themselves to hard work and strive for success.
Dr. Nihit Jaiswal, Director – Corporate Relations at IU, thanked all the guests for their presence and support. He encouraged students to elevate their performance and make the most of the opportunities that this collaboration would offer.
Dr. Shikha Sindhu, Controller of Examinations, also extended gratitude to the guests for their participation and for joining hands with IU in this endeavour.
Through this partnership, students can expect enhanced placement opportunities, exposure to real-world industry practices, and collaborative research prospects. For the partnering companies, the collaboration opens a pipeline to emerging talent, fresh perspectives, and potential innovation through academic engagement.
