Swakiyam Centre for Incubation and Innovation hosted eighth powerful session on October 9th. We were honored to host Mr. Bhushan Kutwal, Co-Founder and Commercial Director of Habbinson International, who led an illuminating and deeply practical discussion on “Building the Right Team & Culture.” Our incubatees came away with renewed clarity. They realized that behind every successful startup, there is a team aligned in vision, values, and determination. It is also important to understand that creating an early foundation is absolutely critical for success.

During the session, Mr. Kutwal shared powerful insights and hands-on guidance. The students understood the importance of team alignment, where they need to make sure that founding partners share the same values, vision, and clarity around their respective roles. Without such alignment, friction and confusion can easily undermine progress. He also walked participants through how to design a lean organizational structure suitable for early-stage ventures — emphasizing simplicity, minimal hierarchy, and clear accountability.

Perhaps most valuable parts of the session is when the students grasped the actionable hiring strategies. The focus was not just on resumes or past achievements, but on identifying candidates whose mindset, flexibility, and capacity to adapt match the evolving needs of a growing startup. Mr. Kutwal described how the optimal team member combines both technical competence and cultural fit, someone who can pivot, learn fast, and stay committed even under uncertainty.
